So i know high light is up top low light in a cave or sandbend. But when purchasing a new coral people often might ask what flow and light requirements? My question is just a little more in depth . What does it mean for high light moderate light and low light. apeaking on terms of par i guess is what im looking for .

Since some use t5 halides leds. im interested to see what some of the pros consider high moderate and low . im just looking where to place some corals that are going to be purchased that require different light hope its not confusing and thanks in advance

Each reefer probably has their own definition of high/low/moderate lighting, so I don't even ask that. I ask what type of lights the coral was under, and how deep it was in the tank. If it's right below the surface on a tank that blasts 400W halides, I'm going to start with it up high under my LEDs. If it comes from the sand bed of a tank with PC lights, it's going in the shade. Still, I'm curious to see what others think. :)
