what is to high for PH

what is the best level to keep your PH at?
just hooked up a apex controller my oh with the lights off and refugium on is 8.47.
I do not know what it was with the lights on.

Did you calibrate the probe? My ph would swing from 7.6 (night) to 8.1 (day) due to low O2 levels in the air. I gor a CO2 scrubber and now my PH is stable between 8.1 and 8.3. I would say anything over 8.6 is too high.

Jeff- if you don't have any calibration fluid I order some two days ago cause I was planning to recalibrate. Let me know and when it comes in on Friday I'll give you and pack of 7.0 & 10.0. Nice meeting you today.
