I have optics i want to add to my fixtures. But dam i doulble my par readings with just blue channel on with optics. I only added optics to half tge fixture with both channels on im triple par then i have now i can turn down but whats a safe number to shot for? @ high point of the day

660 huh for how many hours a day . Gotta have to play withbit on weekend when i have lots of time

I still have to check my par with new bulbs but a lot of my znp skirts were fading. I lowered my time that all 8 bulbs are On.

What do u guys suggest for par/length of time for sps tanks?

I personally think people over blast their SPS with way too much PAR. I have been dialing mine back over the past couple months and getting much better colors from my SPS. I only have 108 LEDs to begin with over my 365 gallon tank, which most people would say is too few. Here is my schedule:

1200 - 0600 Royal Blues go from 20% to 80%, 80% for 4 hrs, 80% to 45%, 20% for last 2 hrs (I get off work at 0400 hrs so I want to enjoy my tank a little when I get home)
1300 - 0400 Red/Green/Blue go from 20% to 100%, 100% for 4 hrs, 100% to 20% (Note due to the Red LEDs the drivers are turned all the way down on this string)
1400 - 0030 Cool Whites go from 10% to 35%, 35% for 4 hrs, 35% to 10%

This is a longer photoperiod then most, but it has worked for me.

top of my tank is roughly 650 par, top of rockwork is 550-580 at 100% the fixture is at 100% for 4 hours a day, haven't had corals under it for very long, but the red planet is still showing alot of green after being top of the rock for about 1 month.

affirmative lol!

I agree with the above statement. I used to run all higher par T-5 bulbs, but since switching a few out, my SPS are showing amazing colors.

FULL SPECTRUM OF MY TANK :)

Bottom (25 inches deep tank) Light 10" from water surface --> PAR from 150 to 300
Middle --> PAR from 300 to 450
Top of the rock (4" to 8 inches below water surface) --> PAR from 450 - 700

1-2 inches below water surface ---> PAR is greater than 900

White is only 5 hours and Blue is 8 hours.

Some body say LED's PAR x %15 = MH or T5 PAR (I am not sure)

Confused. Assuming 1200 is noon blues ramp up from 20% - 80% for 18 hours ? And them stay there for 4 hours and back to 20% for the Next 2 hours ?? That's a 24 hr cycle

Sorry for the confusion. Below is my apex settings (not the complete code, doesn't have the % in the code). I forgot I had switched my noon from 4 hrs to only 2 hrs a few months back. Also 0600 hrs is 6 am, I get off work at 4 am and like to have some down time enjoying the tank before going to bed. The lights are only off for 6 hrs, though 2 hrs only the royal blues are on at 10% (normally all the fish are sleeping during this time and the snails and pods have all come out).

Royal Blues
If Time 12:00 to 14:00 Then PF7 (10% ramp to 25%)
If Time 14:00 to 18:00 Then PF8 (25% ramp to 80%)
If Time 18:00 to 20:00 Then PF9 (80%)
If Time 20:00 to 24:00 Then PF10 (80% ramp to 45%)
If Time 00:00 to 04:00 Then PF11 (45% ramp to 25%)
If Time 04:00 to 06:00 Then PF13 (10%)
If Time 06:00 to 10:00 Then OFF

Red/Green/Blue
If Time 13:00 to 15:00 Then PF1 (25%)
If Time 15:00 to 18:00 Then PF2 (25% ramp to 100%)
If Time 18:00 to 20:00 Then PF3 (100%)
If Time 20:00 to 24:00 Then PF4 (100% ramp to 40%)
If Time 00:00 to 04:00 Then PF5 (40 % ramp to 15%)
If Time 04:00 to 13:00 Then OFF

Cool Whites
If Time 13:30 to 15:00 Then PF13 (10%)
If Time 15:00 to 18:00 Then PF14 (10% ramp to 30%)
If Time 18:00 to 20:00 Then PF15 (30%)
If Time 20:00 to 24:00 Then PF16 (30% ramp to 10%)
If Time 00:00 to 00:30 Then PF13 (10%)
If Time 00:30 to 10:00 Then OFF

I guess I still haven't updated my code for OFF time since I switched shifts at work, the light use to turn on at 1000 hrs and shut off at 0200 hrs.

kinda goes to show every one uses different par reading and different times. Its gonna be trial and error placement of optics and right ones to use . gonna have to use my brain on this one ugh lol. cool to c what everyone runs and times
