Whats this red stuff on my Cheato?

This red stuff has been growing on my cheato. Any ideas what it might be?

Cyano. Typical in newer tanks. I've ran chemi clean in the past to get rid of it, however, your tank is new, so I'd let it run its course.

Is it a bad thing? So far it is only in the fuge with the Cheato.

It looks more like red turf algae.

It's cotton candy algae, had it in my old fuge for years and never spread to the display. It's also the first algae any fish ate when I had to "QT" a fish in the fuge.

I got it in my fuge too and is not spreading to my DT. Tried to pick it out with no success. So I am leaving it in there for a while at least as long as it stays in the fuge it maybe helping the DT by absorbing nutrients as well???? My new system has been running for 6 months DT is fine
