When to add Chaeto?

Hi.

My tank is currently cycling. I have a fuge built into it which currently holds some small pieces of LR, but I plan to add Chaeto to this as well. At what point should I add this? I assume after cycling, but how long after cycling? Also, how much light does it need? Thanks!

You can add it whenever. The chaeto is pretty hardy so it's not going to dissolve with a little ammonia. I have my chaeto under a cfl bulb from the hardware store. I think it's a 5.5K bulb or something like that.

I use 7500k daylight bulbs & they seem to work pretty good.

It really doesn't need any kind of special lighting, I grew mine just fine with hardware store bulbs made for growing plants indoors. Though after going through a couple bulbs I decided to go with the coral compulsion led bulb and my chaeto is growing much faster than it ever did with those hardware store bulbs.
