Which of these Skimmers for NC28g ("Out of stock" seem to be a trend)

I'm running the intank media basket and a reactor with a pump in the larger rear chamber so I am a little limited on space. I need a HOB skimmer with the pump mounted in the skimmer. I've narrowed the search down to:
reef octopus bh1000 (can't seem to actually find one)
Aqua Euro USA (on sale at Petco)
Aquamaxx HOB-1 (didn't really want to spend that much and also out of stock, but I hear good things.)

Any opinions? The BH1000 would be on my tank now if BRS would just get some in!
I really need to get skimming.

If you can wait a week, I'll have a Red Sea Prizm for sale. It works awesome for me on my 55.

Thanks. I've seen that one and I don't think the outflow will work well for the NC28. I really need a pipe-in-pipe-out style, but I will definitely keep it in mind. It's basically shaped like a regular HOB filter, right?

Yeah, basically. the water output is wide, but it's because they took a round tube and made a triangle out of it. It works well, but it might not fit the space right.

If you get a chance sometime, I would really appreciate you taking the measurements of the wide part and the distance from inlet to outlet. it might just happen to fit really well, but the dimensions online are always too vague.

Yeah sure.

It's 9 inches from inlet to the edge of the return. And it's clear, which is also helpful.

So I ordered the BH1000 from BRS (arrived in 2 days!) but I may have chosen poorly

This thing might actually be bigger than my NC28! The website says 17 inches, but it is exactly 22 from pump to cup. Now I'm afraid it isn't going to fit. On a positive note, if it does fit I'll get a huge increase in my total volume of water. . .

Is anyone else using this on a NC28?

Had to increase the hole in my wall and move a bunch around, but I actually got this hoss to fit. 2 things:
1.The term "AIO" is a joke.
2. No one told me being an aquarist required yoga and cardio.

In any case: it's running, but not having much experience with a skimmer, I'm just not sure if it is doing what it is supposed to. I know there is a break-in period and it is definitely spattering the cup with a bunch of tiny droplets, but if the picture is adequate, I'd love to hear if I should raise or lower the cup (or any other suggestions)

Give it a couple days to break in and then adjust it as needed. My two skimmers took a few hours to break in and started producing skimmate almost immediately. My SWC took a couple days to really start pulling gunk and it took a lot of adjustments to get there....I still am adjusting...lol.

shoulda gone with a tunze 9002........

Probably, but I already had the intank basket and nano-glo light (and a HOB reactor). I would have had to ditch those to use a drop in skimmer since it only fits in the middle chamber. In shoulda, woulda, coulda world I'd have a 50 gallon RR cube with a 20g sump/fuge, but I'm learning tons every day and this definitley isn't the last tank I'll buy. Fortunately a lot of the stuff I am getting will work when I eventually upgrade. :crazy_pilot:

Yea I saw this at MACI...Looked cool with the build in ATO container. Not a lot of volume but enough for a day or two. How's it working out for you?
