I am stuck between the SWC 160, Bubble Magus 8, or Reef Octopus 8 NWB200. Which one is built the best and also will last.

What is the RO 8? Never heard of that but out of that list, i would personally go with SWC. Great build quality and also many positive reviews. Wiz.

I have the SWC 160 and it is great. Never had any issues with it and was easy to get going.

i have the octopus sx 200 and it kicks butt i love it no experience with the one mentioned but they look similar

Bubble Magus NAC8 is a better skimmer then SWC 160. SWC 160 is comparable to Bubble Magus NAC7. I absolutely love my NAC8. The SRO's are nice too but you have to either build a platform for them or have a very low water level in your skimmer chamber for them to function properly which limits the water level for the rest of your sump chambers.

Out of those three I would choose the NAC8. However if I did it again I would have gotten the BM180A which is the exact same skimmer as the NAC8 with a seamless body (not that mine has any issues at the seam):

it is also the same price. If you order from Socal Tropical Fish Tom (owner) will take care of your warranty issues and any other problems.

As a side note I would stay far far away from SWC products. Their owner is NOT a good guy and he is currently being brought up on charges for smuggling:

WOW didn't know that. Thanks Ted for the info.

Jason here is a Skimmer Q&A thread that could help you out.

The BM180A would be a perfect fit, but if you don't mind skimming a little wetter and ever plan to upgrade then go with the NAC9.

Order from the place that I'm linking to. They carry every Bubble Magus replacement part you could ever need and Tom (owner) takes care of all warranty and replacement issues for you. He's great to deal with!

Does he give any kind of discount?

Not really, but the post-purchase service is worth ordering from him. I'm sure you could find it somewhere cheaper (maybe?) but then he probably wouldn't want to hear from you if you have a problem.
