In this hobby you learn all the time, no matter how long you reefing. I have been reefing for almost 18 years. Few last years dosing 2 part Alk and Calcium from BRS. Never had a problem. Yes, I dose manually, evening since now View attachment 26429View attachment 26430View attachment 26431View attachment 26432I only have 20 gal. Nano. Last 4 weeks suddenly after my evening dosing next dsy when lights come On I got this on my glass. I'm sure (99% ?) it's from Alkalinity. Alk 9, Cal 450, Mag 1450. I didn't change a thing..why I got this now? Any idea? It's so frustrating and hard to scrape ?Thank's in advance...

Thank's but definitely not Coraline. I know it is difficult to see on pics but it is white and definitely some alkalinity participation...difficult to explain, really but something is going on. I got a lot of good Coraline but this is diffrent. Also if I don't dose glass will be clean If dose ( evening) next day front glass all coverd

Understand. Agree, cannot see white on glass. Keep in mind, coralline algae can be white.

It’s gotta be calcium precipitation, right? Although I thought you need higher cal than 459 for it to precipitate. Maybe something else is out if wack that allows it to precipitate at lower levels?

Thanks. Yes. I think ( hope) it is some water chemistry unbalance or something... so frustrating...I have to figure this out somehow...will double check Calcium...
