I've been keeping fish for close to 40 years, do 90% weekly WC on these guys & still can't keep them alive for more than 3 years. They just drop dead, one at a time for no apparent reason. I even treated for IPs regularly, fed a very hi protein diet of blackworms soaked in Vita--Chem. :(

If you do decide to try them, I highly suggest against keeping wild ones--go for locally bread.l Wild discus need their pH adjusted very low. Locally-bread fish are fins with Chicago water. Much easier to keep up with the very large WC required to keep their water pristine.
