We all luv them, really want to see what is the largest amout kept.

180 gallon
1. Mc cosker flasher
2. Yellow corris
3. Mellanarus (sp?)
4. Pencil male
5. Pencil female.
Plan on a few more

it's tricky, one bad apple can spoil the bunch

I once had
solon
whipfin
orange sided
yellow fin

in a 180, the yellow fin was a total jerk off and literally chased the other 3 out of the tank and I had screens! thankfully, the yellowfin finally leaped to his demise after leaving the tank uncovered for a few months after futiling trying to catch him for a couple months.

now I have two

Elegant Wrasse
Mystery Wrasee

hoping to add in one more

Chris hit it off right Jeff. One bad apple spoils the rest. Try sticking with community wrasses and they should be fine. You can fit a hell of a bunch in a 180!

yeah, but I thought a yellow fin fairy would be a good community wrasse! you never know! ;)

They all snap and kill each other sonetimes it takes em two years but its like if u disrupt them in any way they go ballistic i added completely different fish cause the wrasses to go into kill mode

I have a Yellow Wrasse, Christmas Wrasse, Dusky Wrasse, and a Fairy Wrasse in a 75g for now but will go into my new 180. My 220 leaked on me so I had to put them in the 75. Hope to add more when I get the 180 up and running. (Argus Wrasse, Potter's Wrasse, Radiant Wrasse, Grey Head Wrasse, Mystery Wrasse)

So I have a flasher wrasse (was sold as a carpenters flasher) but doesn't look anything like them in terms of color... Top fin is orange, body is like a dark purple\brownish color... beautiful fish.. The other is a yellow fin fairy wrasse. So far so good..

I would like to add some more wrasses... I'm assuming both of these are males because of their nice colors, so what else can I add here? I really would love a melanarus or mystery wrasse, but i need my CUC so they are out of the picture (I think).

What can I add here? Can I add more flasher or fairy wrasses without a huge chance of issues? I was also thinking of a leopard wrasse as well.

The tank is a 150G, 60x24x24... Thoughts?

I have had bad luck with the yellow fins they seemed to be very aggressive toward the other
Wrasse in my 125 I had a whip fin, filamented flasher, yellow coris, radiant, menalurus, yellow fin fairy and four Line they all got along with each other and avoided the yellow fin he was always flaring himself at them and taking a swipe here and there all others I mentioned are fine moral of the story is avoid the yellow fin fairy had a couple over the years a d all of them showed bad behavior

That's interesting... Ours is the other way around. The yellow-fin fairy wrasse is shy as can be and spends a lot of his days in the rock work. Our orange back in my old cube did that for a long while then because super lively and never hid. We added an exquisite fairy wrasse to the group and there has been zero aggression from the whip fin, or anyone for that matter.

They have played very well together, and I'm looking to add more wrasses here coming up shortly... There is a LOT of room in this tank, and wrasses are the perfect reef fish.. now it's just a matter of finding some more rare'ish type varities.

so I'm now up to

Elegant Wrasse
Mystery Wrasee
yellow coris (baby, just over an inch)
lubbocks wrasee

no issues at all and they've been together for a month, I'm hoping to add one more, either a melanrus or radiant, I'd like to add a higher end wrasse, like a flame, rhomboid or Lineatus, but I'm too **** scared that a $200 fish will jump out of the tank, even with covers, so I might get a scott's fairy wrasee if I can find a decent price ($100 or less)

How is your Mystery wrasse with your CUC, and fellow wrasses? I know the lubbocks are generally shy'er and might help me get some confidence in picking up a Mystery and or Melanarus for our reef.
