Yellow tail damsel with clowns

I am new to the hobby. I have a 10 gallon nano that was setup with cycled live rock and system water from my LFS. It has been running for a month and a half with no issues. Nitrates are a little high, keeping in check with water changes and working out a modification to run some cheato. I saw in a post somewhere, someone with a similar setup that had a clown and several varieties off damsel, including a yellow tail. A lot if what I have read says this is a bad idea, but would a yellow tail coexist with a pair of ocelaris clowns?

Yeah, you can mix the two, because they are actually related, and both can be mean as heck. But you won't be able to put too many fish in there.

I had yellowtail damsel with clownfish with no problems. It is one of the more peaceful damsels. But mine were in 120 gal. tank. Your 10 gal. is way too small for pair of clowns and damsel. I would not put more fish, than the pair of clowns.

I'm going to try the same thing, a single yellowtail damsel and a single occelaris clown in a 12 gallon nanocube. Except the yellowtail I'm going to put in isn't the "typical" yellowtail variety. It is Chrysiptera Arnazae . . . same coloration just with a little more yellow on its fins. We'll see how it goes . . . the clown has been in the tank a lot longer.

I have a occy clown and a yellow tail in a BC14. The clown was first and bigger. Him and the damsel race for food. The clown is more shy of foreign objects than the bolder damsel but he keeps the yellow tail in check.

Yellow tail also doesn't bother my yellow watchman buy he keeps to his cave with his pistol lol.

It will b a tight squeeze for a pair of clowns and a yellowtail. Do your clowns host an anemone? My clown only show any sort of aggression when my yellowtail gets too close to the host anemone for his comfort. You should b fine. Damsels are tough fish

Just got done explaining my psycho yellowtail in a previoys post.

The fish i added was a clown the same size as the yellowtail...the damsel lost his sh!t and straight attacked the clown. Mr. Net had to break up the fight.

All I can say when it comes to damsels is "B!tches be crazy..."
