We have a new product line of nano tanks in the store. It's called the Zen Nano!
It's an all in one system so can sit it on the counter, or you can also get a stand.

We have a 5 gallon system
Tank system is only $79.99 each for a limited time
The stand is also only $79.99

I want to set one up in the shop... but im not sure on what to keep in it...

Any suggestions or idea's ??

I'm going to keep it stock except I want to run chemi-pure elite and Purigen in the filter chambers

either shrimp/goby pair. which you may have to just go shrimp. or maxi mini garden with lots of sexys..... idk if the lights can keep maxi's tho.

do a dedicated goby/shrimp pair so you can actually see them. I vote Yasha.

Good idea...ty

I like the mini maxi idea.... but your right there's no way that stock light could support them... and I kinda wanna test to see what could be kept with out any major mods done to the system.

That would be great if you could determine just what can be kept in a stock zen nano. I'd buy one for my desk at work if it proves to keep anything more than fish alive.

I set it up yesterday. I used Fiji Pink live sand out of the frag tank and a 4 lb base rock.
I used 1 11.74 oz of Chemi-pure Elite (high grade carbon w/ GFO). It fit perfectly in the filter basket.
I also added some Stress Zyme to kick start to cycle and add live bacteria to the dry base rock.

I'm going to let it cycle for a week, do a 50% water change, full water test and if all is good start stocking it :)

so far:
$80 tank w/light, filter n top
$3.99 aquarium thermometer
$17.99 11.74oz of Chemi-pure elite
$10 in sand
$10 base rock
$5 Reef water

It's maintaining a temp of 75 so far. ambient temp of 77
I'm going to keep an eye on the temp and have a nano heater on hand just in case.

looks great! I am on board with fishbeard. I'll be watching this to see how easy a desk tank would be. Water changes would be pretty dang easy!

looks sweet so far. i still think sexy/maxi with sum juicy leds would be crazy cool. could maybe go NPS, but be a pain to keep quality up if you feed them alot.

Looks cool so far do you have some of that sand but not live just dry

That's the plan.... this mourning I found a loose zoa that hitch it's way in from the sand I pulled out of the frag system and it was completely open n happy... But I did take it out cause i want to log every thing that goes into it and if I do keep zoa's in there I wanna start with only crazy colored ones.

Not in stock at the time.... but I can get ya some.... I do prefer the live sand tho, it's just lil more $$ but worth it.

I am not sure how I didn't notice you are in Frankfort, I might have to stop by today.

those lobsters are cool, but idk what kinda tank you would keep one in.

I know a 5 gal would be too small for the Blue guy I have.... even tho they don't swim around too much
It just looks like he wouldn't be so happy bumping the sides of the tank 24/7

Coral and nano fish/inverts is my goal
