zoas question

OK I have a question for anyone that knows. I have an Sps dominate tank. And have the equipment to make sure water conditions are right to run a thriving sps tank. Now with the equipment that I have to take certain things out of the water, I want to know if zoos and palys can do well or not. It may sound like a dumb question bit I've talked to 3 people that said their zoo colonies are not doing as well cuz there is not enough for the colonies to take anything out of the water. Is this true?

Zoas IME/IMO like "dirtier" water. I would see why an SPS dominated would have problems keeping them. I've seen them survive very well in those kind of tanks before but I guess it depends on the zoas willingness to survive I guess.

No and yes I would say. All zoas are the same. What I'm trying to say is it depends on your luck with the zoa I guess. It just that SPS dominated tanks maintain so clean of a water that sometimes they just cant handle it.

I agree with Cubbies.. Will be a hit or miss with a full SPS dominate tank. Have seen it done with palys and growing strong. So don’t try to spend top $$ on frags. Just get a few to try out and see how it works for you. You might get a zoa or paly that might survive and adapt to your tank.
