Best feeling ever to get them eating other foods. Try some mysis too.. Mine loves it and it is a little more nutritional for them as well.

Is your pod population good? If so, I would supplement with brine/mysis. My mandarin goes for any that hits the sand and moves slowly across it. I consider him part of my CUC now haha.

IMO, the downside with brine is they don't have much nutritional benefit so you don't want to make them a main part of his diet.

i've had my mandarin for like 2 years and never seen him eat anything other than pods lol

Yesterday my mandarin snagged with I think was a chunk of scallop from LRS Reef Frenzy and ducked behind a rock to keep the other fish from taking it! He proceeded to "pluck it" into small enough pieces he could actually eat it LOL

Thats awesome! I had a mandrin long time ago who started eating brine in my 60g and he lived a very prosperous life
