28G Nano Cube Reef Start Up

got those clowns, they're actually sitting in a friends nano while I wait for my tank to be ready haha. Jumped the gun.

CoralN00b, Old Town aquarium is the closest LFS but i do work in the suburbs and often go to on my way home. Mostly aquatic visions, reefwise and aquapros. lately just to look, i see the potential to spend a lot of money though :/ lol

Ya my Alveopora has almost bleached out to the max! hasnt even been 6 months my whites arent even above 30% lol. Looks sweet man keep us updated.

So I am really unhappy with my aquascape and want to move it around before too much goes into it. My inexperience came into factor and got too many shelving pieces. Would it be wise to cut these in half? Also I have a pistol in there and it's hunkered down under a big rock, any secret to grab that sucker?View attachment 16101
Thanks!
Also got the clowns in View attachment 16102

Ya Hawks! The cup is back!

Why are your pictures so tiny..? Hehe. Shelves can be used to make interesting structures too - its kind of hard to see what you've got available to work with though. People have cut rock - sometimes it will shatter/crumble though. Just something to keep in mind.

Sorry...here is the updated scape.View attachment 16311

And finally, I had a pistol shrimp in there for about a week. Never saw it. Just added a yellow watchman and they paired up in less than 5 minutes. Thought that was cool, except they made their home in the dark cave...jerks haha :/

Maerak, the tank is looking great!

Awesome news on the shrimp and goby.

For those red heads, I can't tell from the photos but maybe aptasia?

Quick update

Moved the rocks around a bunch, they were too close to the front and the shrimp was burying the corals that were acclimating in the sand so I moved the rock back but I separated the shrimp and goby. Haven't seen the shrimp since, the goby seems flustered, and also when I moved the rock around I scared the crap out of one of the clowns and its just chillin in a rock crevasse. Did add a rbta on a whim, had issues, blocked overflow, moving everywhere. The snowflake took to it, the buckshot won't move out of the one place. Any suggestions? My smaller Male clown started doing this for a while when the female/ larger clown started to beat on it. Is your other clown chasing it around or picking at it?

After the male started to partner up by returning the females courtship dance the male ventured out again and isn't picked on anymore. But yeah I had a clown inside a hole in the rocks for about a 2-3 week time frame.

Only came out for feedings.

Hey Guys,

So i went on vacation, and let my roommate, who knew nothing, (Still doesn't know much) watch over it. Anyway I came back, tank was dirty, but everything was still alive. The one thing i did notice was the back dorsal fin (Name?) on my snowflake (the bigger of the two) was pretty beat up. The live stock is a midas blenny, 3 chromis (looking to get rid of), pistol and goby, and the two clowns. They also have a giant anemone to swim in (which i also need to get rid of or trade because it is way too large for my tank.) My thinking is the only thing that could mess with it is the smaller clown bc i figured the nem would scare off the others. Any thoughts? Would getting rid of the 3 chromis sooner rather than later have any bearing on it, ie freeing up some space.

Thanks!

Update - I fed some flakes this morning and the clown was eating off the top of the water and the midas came up behind it and took a nice chunk of of the clowns tail. I love both those fish. Do you think removing the chromis will free up some territory and relieve some of the stress?

it may, but the midas still may be aggressive to the clown. how long have they been in there?
