I have been doing tons of research online and haven't really come back with much information. So far I have learned that too much light usually makes Acans turn red and gives them the lines perpendicular to the mouth. As far as what type of lights and the level of PAR there does not seem to be much agreement amount the communities.

What are your experiences with keeping color in Acans and what type of lights you have had success with. Placement and parameters details would be helpful too!

For deep rainbows most of the big time Acan guys will tell you between 75-150 for PAR levels.

I have kept some rainbows under LED exclusively. But had many orange out. My best lighting was t5 led mix. I had my par around 100 for almost all of them and kept some really great color along with developing some new ones in my best rainbows.

As for parameters I always did better when I let my water stay a little dirtier.

Also spot feed LPS pellets. It takes a long time but one per head with a pipette makes all the difference.

My acans in the past have done the best under mh lights. I used 150 watt pendants.
