Got the lab grade apex! Now to work on the install with my week off work!

Thanks everyone for your input!

anarchy bryman where do you guys mount your probes? I'd think I would care most about the temp and ph in the display since in the sump the temp may show a higher temp than the display due to the heater catching up with heat lost from the display water (I would imagine +1-2 degrees warmer. Thoughts?

Same with ph?

Mine is in the final chamber of my sump where the return pump is. There's enough moving water there so it will be very close to the display temp. Just don't put the temp probe right next to the heater :).

Currently I have it dropped in my overflow as I figured that would be as close to the display temp as possible without having to see it. Any concerns you can see with this approach?

I do run T5s but I don't think the heat will affect it since the turnover of water is pretty high in the overflow. Thoughts?

That should work fine. Water is a good insulator and if there's water flowing around it anywhere in the system it should be extremely close.

ya worked out well abd just didnt install the middle peice in the drawers

Just bought one of those cabinets from Ikea. Gonna be working on moving all of my equipment from the side of my tank into this cabinet. It's going to help me with so many things. I finally will have a home for my ATO, and it'll keep my cats from getting behind the tank.

So if anyone stumbles across this thread thinking about purchasing a controller, the Apex lab was amazingly easy to set up if you can follow directions. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a controller!

I agree, if you follow directions, setup is a learning process. You gotta love the Fushion programming capabilities and control with your ipad, iphone or Android equivalent. My probs are in sump.
