So I woke up and find out that my Jebao DCT 8000 return pump failed :( I have a 40 gal. Breeder mostly SPS. Temp dropped to 74. Usually it is between 76-78 so I hope my SPS will be still ok. I run circulation pumps and moved heater from sump to tank. I also add another heater. I hope I bought it on time. anyway Ill wait till AquaPros opens and hopefully Dave has them on stock. It is 6 months old pump. Not sure about warranty but I think I bought it on Amazon so I'm not sure. I have to look for receipt. Just don't want to start up. I run that pump on lower speed. There is like 10 speed lights so I usually have them on 3 so now after i turn it on those 3 lights blinks and 2 on the other end together…. frustrated it is 6 months old and failed…. Did that happened to any of you guys? Thanks for all future advice…

That's it ? I have boxes of bad crap . That's just a part of the hobby . That's why we have back up plans .
Even people with plenty of experience run into something now and then. Someone here has a pump to lend if your stuck until you can replace.

Ive read several stories of tem failing prior to the one year mark. Most of the stories have been on RC or R2R, can't remember reading anyone on Cr with the same failure.

Good luck getting it back up and rolling without loss!

Arthur,

I have a pump you can use in the meantime if you like until you get your warranty item sorted. I'm going to be around until 11 if you want to pick it up.

PM me if you are interested.

Yes. I know. I always had a back up pump when I had my old tank. Never need it tho… But after my downgrade which was 6 months ago I didn't buy back up yet…. and of course now it happened… o well…

Your fine!!! Always have backups of everything!!! That's what makes us go broke an rack up our credit cards!

Thanks Jon. Yes, I should stop by anyway this weekend… what a coincident…. For now Im still waiting for Dave to respond. If he got good pump for my tank then Ill buy it as my back up until I figure out if I can get this fixed under warranty. He should be open in couple hours. I brought temp in my tank back to 76.Im running 2 heaters and 2 Circulation pumps so really hopes corals will be ok. Thanks.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Very minor issue especially since you caught it relatively fast (since it only dropped to 74).

I think it is a controller. What a crappy brand that Jebao is… I used theirs WP40 Circulation pumps on my 125 before. Went thru 4 of them in a year. All of them because a controller.

Got home after being away from the house for 12 hours to find my dc12000 off. Looks like the power supply went bad on mine. I just unhooked the rw15 and plugged the power into the dc12000. Temp only dropped to 76.7

Any chance you used a credit card for purchase, which extended the warranty reimbursement repair period? In any event, I've also got a couple of pumps you could use if needed.

Yes, I bought that pump with credit card. I found all information from my Amazon account. I will contact seller tomorrow but I don't have a lot of hopes. Thinking that he will tell me to contact manufacture…. but they are in china and from searching on internet they never replay… will see. Thanks for your offer but I bought a new one from Dave… so fas so good… ;)
