Hi All,
Long story short, my fish got ich or velvet at the worst. I lost two fish within a couple of hours last week so I started down the immune boost method since I don't have room for a qt tank at my place (before you ask, I use to do fresh water dips on the fish before I would add them to DT) and adding cooper as you all know would kill all my corals in the DT. I was starting to feel like crap since I knew my fish where not doing well and I was about to throw in the towel till I saw my yellow watchman goby not acting like himself and swimming all over the place. Well that's when I knew I had to do something... Lucky I still had my 35 gallon running and about to drain the water so I moved my blenny since I defiantly saw ich on him. Thanks to the help of tkh and ddiomede (and the wife's ok) I got a 20 gallon long which I'll use as my QT tank going forward. Below is what I have to start with, how I'll start the process. Please let me know if you should have any suggestions along the way.
35 Gallon (lights, heater, protein skimmer, power head). Already had saltwater with zero ammonia, nitrate, nitrite pH 8. Below are the fish that will go in this tank for the next couple of weeks.
Yellow Tang
Dwarf Flame Angel
Melanurus Wrasse
Blackcomb Blenny
20 Gallon Long (lights, heater, HOB filter without the carbon, PVC, power head) I took 10 gallons of water from the DT and added 10 gallons of freshly made saltwater.
2 clown fish
3 blue/green chromis
purple firefish
I will be using Cupramine and I will also be monitoring the ammonia and cooper levels.
Thanks guys.
