LED Recommendations

I have an AI Sol over my nano tank and I do miss the color spectrum that it misses. I've be contemplating how I could get the best of both worlds (AI Sol's + T5's) with new tank but it's proving to be difficult. A combo of both would be nice though

What I have seen is some people will take 4 or 6 bulb T5, and just gut the equipment from one of the channels and retrofit a strip of LEDs into the empty space. Otherwise, Finnex makes a really nice 4 bulb t5 fixture with a strip of high par royal blue LEDs down the middle and individual clip on parabolic reflectors for each bulb.

Maybe my 2 month old AI sol will be up for sale in near future.
 
Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am really leaning more towards a DIY led systems as I see more and more of them and how good they look. Tanks is a 28g NC, and I am looking to be able to have a couple clams on the sand bed. I can't find it now but I think Gus had linked a site elsewhere with kits at awesome prices. I was hoping to acheive something close to a 14-15k color temp. Any reccomendations on diy kits, and led options? I am not opposed to sourcing and purchasing outside of a kit if need be(if vendors are not flexible), but I did want to get as full of a spectrum as possible and ensure if I do go diy, it will be something I can put together and not worry about for as long as I have this tank.

Was looking at that kit, now I guess my question is on the red and green led's how much is simply looks? I know I had read something about most of greens light being wasted, but then ted pointed out that article was the source of a lot of controversy.

In its current incarnation if they wont modify sets I would go with the 12 white, 10 blue, and 2 UV. Anyone know what type of color to expect with that?
 
I have two Apollo LED Fixures over my 90 mixed reef......I love them. I have some easy SPS but my LPS and soft corals have never looked better. You do need to buy an Apex controller and write your own program.....Just let me know I have a generic one written that you can cut and paste and make your own. Great Lights...Check them out on Facebook if you have an account. The owner answers every question just about 24 hours or less.

I have 3 55 led fixtures running cree blues and whites non dimmable. I have talked to many designers and I believe that the dimmable LEDS will not last 50,000 hrs as claimed. I found a person who exports large rolls of CREE LEDs to his supplier in China and has them assembled. Much more reasonable than the current pricing here. Cree LED's are much more reasonable in 10,000 LED rolls. Just an FYI and they are 3 watt with optics. He now has SPS extreme fixtures. I am loving mine.
