any body ever had any luck with this stuff does it actually work or waste of time. i have cheveron and moorrish and some fire fish with ich and i could try to catch i know tang and idol be easy to catch but fire fish maybe tricky there r other fish in tank but not effected with ich . every one is eating great not even scratching much just got the white spots anyway been treating with the metro and focus for about a week now i heard takes like a month im just soaking the food in it a mix of mysis and brine with spirlina . just wondering if its a waste of time or not id like this to run its course . and not qt if possible but keeping close eye on em im not super worried about ich my uv keeps it manageable and gonna grab ginger to soak food in today to. so any experiances with metro and focus u want to share will be appreciated thanks
 
The only reliable cures for ich is hypo salinity and copper. These medicines can help some of the symptoms but will not cure or rid a tank of ich. Focus helps with internal infections and metro can help but in my experience it does not work for ich. I quarantine everything and use copper or hypo as needed.

i know how to cure ich not my first rodeo lol not even worried about getting it out of system . i will never do hypo just wont i have my oppions on hypo i keep to my self . i use copper in my qt i didnt qt the fire fish though oops any way like i said really just looking for feed back on metro and focus . i know all the other ways of dealing with ich . most fish will build a immune sytsem to fight it off and thats what im going for unless i see signs thats its super bad the i will treat the fish for a week in copper and put back in .
 
again guys not looking for ich cures i know them all looking for feed back on metro and focus specifically only

i know jeni i know all about vc but i also know about me and dosing and testing and it dosent happen so i dont dose anything i can crash my reef with and fresh ginger is better then garlic in building immune system imo
 
I used both (metro and focus) for 14 days trying to treat an ich infection in my tank and the fish just got worst. I moved them all to different tanks and used hypo that cleared it up on a couple of fish. I lost the rest of them.
 
Following along here. I am interested in how this stuff works. Looks like a good solution if you caught everything on the front end of the problem. Did you get this at a LFS?

It worked in my tank. I had a fish that showed signs and I followed the remedy according to Eric (poidog) and it worked. It took 2 treatments, each 30 days in duration and my tank has been clean since.

Following too, hi Walt is this treatment safe in reef tank? Could you give more details how you did it?

The focus binds the meds to the food so it doesn't easily mix into the water but there's a trick to it. You have to add the binder last when mixing the food. I keep a pack in my freezer at all times but I haven't had a need to feed it to the tank in the last few months since I have been religious about QTing. I'll look for the post and repost it here shortly.
