Ocean Revive Leds

Is there any reason why you are getting rid of the AI Sol's. I am in the market for LED's for the future tank, Are they AI Sol Blues, or Whites?? My buddy got ocean revive fixture and it does look very nice on the tank, just kinda don't like that you can see the spot light of green on the rocks..

I'm not getting rid of them they are going on my 40 breeder. As far as why I'm upgrading, it's because I want less shadowing and corals to color up better.

I personally did not notice this but that's just me.

Why do you prefer halides? Do they color coral better or do you like the spectrum better? As far as the OR, did you keep it for the frag tank or keep the kessil?
Color spectrum and I know it's tried and true. I've had great success in the past. Plus I had opportunity to get the reebrite hybrid fixture for a great price. I had never run radiums before (always had DE fixtures) and wanted to give them a try. I think there's just something inherent about halides that have yet to be incorporated into leds. Think it as that little something extra. I still have the OR. Kind of a shame it's only 2-3 months old. When I bought it it was new for $200 and now they're only $148! I'm keeping the kessil on the frag tank because I think it looks better aesthetically being hun over a rimless tank plus the kessil has shimmer equivalent to many halides whereas the ORs do not.

I think leds shimmer better when each the leds are closer to each other. I think I'm gonna try out 1 OR unit and see if I like it. If I don't then I can just keep my ai's

Maybe I seen the Green spot light because he is currently cycling with brand new dry rock that is really white still..

All about them halides. Let me know how you like the light. I've always had DE

Regarding the green......Easy fix that costs $3 per fixture and 10 minutes of your time. Just need a soldering gun and two diodes from reefbreeders.

Yes I think the puck/dream chips are more shimmery. The OR reminded me more of T5s
I love t5s. If I have the choice of three ai's or a 6 bulb ati i would go with the ATI any day. I have to use what I have though and if the ai's aren't cutting it then I have some options.

I just ordered one T247 from ocean revive. Gonna mount one in my canopy and if I like it i will order 2 more.

Keep in mind, if you don't like the color of the light when you get it, it is easy and cheap to change the diodes. After visiting Battlecorals, I'll be switching most of the cool whites it comes with out to warm whites.

Where do you get the diodes from? I'll probably wanna take out the green and maybe the red I'm not sure yet

My OR fixture came in. Upon first pulling it out of the box all I could say was wow, I paid $150 for this. It is made very high quality and is quite heavy. Overall very pleased so far. Going to add it to the 125 later today of tommorow.
