Phosphate help

Hello. I’ve only posted a few times. Still learning a lot about this hobby....still a bit of a newbie. Had my tank running for 2 years now. Was wondering how to get my Phosphates down? Have a Hanna HI713 and my Phosphates are showing around 1.25. That’s down from 1.53 in the beginning of August but far from less than .03 ppm. I don’t have a reactor. Have been using a small bit of Phosguard for the last 2 months....stuff makes me a little nervous. Change water (10%) every Sunday like clockwork. Any ideas on how to get it down would be helpful.

One thing that might help is to do bigger water changes since you’re doing it anyway. Shoot for 20% or so.

Liquid phosphate remover works too. I assume you have a skimmer?

Ok. Nopox or reef RX....I have no GFO reactor or protein skimmer. Read that reef rx can be a pain to remove and Nopox requires a skimmer....any experience with either product?

Unfortunately no. I run a ultra low nutrient system so never delt with that. I'd say just increase amount and frequency of water changes.
