Love the tank set up. I just bought my 90 RR tank/stand from AP as well. Do you mind sharing with me what fish/CUC you have in the tank? My tank is currently cycling and I'm trying to figure out what fish/corals I will be adding?

Sure thing. I started out with a pair of Clowns first and a Yellow Wrasse. CUC I added about 30 astrea snails and 20 blue leg Hermits but that's not nearly enough snails for that size tank normal rule of Thumb is 1 snail per 1 gallon unless you are getting the jumbo Mexican Turbo Snails but those are bull dozers. IMO I would skip the blue leg hermits and get the red leg hermits instead. The blue leg hermits are more aggressive than the red legs. Which reminds me I need to get more snails.. Haha.

Once they are settled in then start adding more fish. I would add only one Tang if you are thinking about adding more than one overtime Tangs will get very aggressive toward one another and will fight.

I also added 3 Lyretail Anthais, Solar Fairy Wrasse, Formosa Wrasse, blue hippo tang that's pretty much it. The Yellow Wrasse ended up dying after a month in the tank the hermits took care of him.

Is there anything that you would have changed with your set up, fish, CUC, or coral? I have alot of very similiar equipment, Reef Octopus 150, Eshopp R200, etc. This is my first salt water tank. I should be able to add my first fish sometime after Christmas.

Just saw this, The only thing I would change is getting a smaller sump but other than that everything else seems to be fine in working order. I just have to deal with the sump :P

Just an update on Saturday 1/10 I woke up to my 90G not on. Sometime between 6pm Friday and 9am Saturday morning the next day the plug from my power strip pulled away from the outlet which shut off my apexs, lights and everything else I had plugged into it. It was 9am until I notice my lights didn't kick on by the time I looked in the Tank I saw my Solar Wrasse dead and one of my Blue Eyed Squmi Anthais. My temp in the tank was 69 degrees, my momma clown, blue tang and pipefish where all alive but breathing heavy and fast. Luckily I caught this in time my SPS still look fine no signs of stress but still gave it 24hrs before things where going to go south because of the slight temp swing, everything made it. I did lose 4 fish my 3 Anthais and Solar Wrasse. Other than that everything has been great and my SPS are just growing like weeds here is a full tank shot.

Im surprised theres no feature on apex ti let u know apex is off line

I believe there is a black box that is going to be introduce soon that will alert you if power ever dies on your tank. Milwaukee Instruments will be producing them and from what I was told March 2015

Sorry to hear about the power outage and losses. Can't you add an alert on the Apex to send you a text if power is lost? I have alerts on everything because I'm testing atm and I'm thinking you can. I'll double check and let you know if I come across it.

I would have to check if they have that feature available and talk with Neptune Systems about it. I am sure they might have something if power goes out that it send you an alert. I'll see what they say

Here it is. You will have to replace EB_3 with whatever you show on yours. I'm going to add this later too and test. Hope this helps

If Power Apex Off 000 Then ON

If Power EB8_3 Off 000 Then ON
