Skimmer drivin me Crazy

Whats up guys so i got a skimz skimmer from another member i installed and its ran the last weeek great alll of a sudden this thing is producing alot of microbubbles that are going into the tank, but barely any are going to the cup and when i adjust it it just fills with water.

jow do I ndo that? and that wont stop the bubbles from leaking into sump? thanks

what model Skimz is it? does it run this way constantly or after you feed something, like frozen food? what depth of water is it running in currently?
 
your skimmer is suggested to be running in 7" to 9.5" of water for best performance....
perhaps you may be experiencing increased micro-bubbles due to the low water depth?
 
It's just shining a turd, but can you put a filter sock over the output of the skimmer or have it dump into one? I know it doesn't fix the problem, but it can relieve the bubbles in the tank until you do find a resolution.
 
thx for the replies i cant put a sock on ut because all the out put is is a little gate that you can adjust

it has 2 adjustments: 1 for internal water level and then the bubbles adjustment right on the silencer. you need to mess with both very slowy, because it takes time for skimmer to adjust. you are probably better off watching a youtube video of your skimmer and how people adjust them.
 
What chamber of your sump is it in? 1st or last? If the water level isn't absolutely consistent you'll have major inconsistency.

Is it me or the siliencer filled with water. I run a sponge on out put of my skimmer lot of skimmers ive seen leave micro bubbles thats why people build baffels and bubble traps. Have u dosed any thing lately i notice some additives make skimmers go nuts
 
I did use some epoxy but would that cause micros.......or crazy thought is my tank to clean at the moment? My tanks a 90 could be I skimmed everything out and maybe I should run it once in a while?

Ive seen epoxy do it before . And no u tank isnt to clean and skimmed out lol u can leave it run . U can make buible trap out of nylons if theres a woman in house with some u can steal lol give it few days should settle down
 
My skimmer always go bubbly crazy when i use enough epoxy. Turn it off for now until epoxy cures, or let your super wet skimate drain into a bucket using a hose, until you skim all the epoxy stuff out of the water.
Think of it as a small water change. Add fresh saltwater while your skimmer skimming into bucket.
