My new 500-550gal pond. Still waiting for the liner to settle in before surrounding it with flagstone. Max depth is 34" with other shelves at 10" and 22".

All are my kois lives in pond in winter times for 10 years already with a little pump keep runs and pond is 30" deep

Yes, if the pond is deep enough and you can keep air exchange going when ice is on. It's not hard to do, just need a shovel, wheelbarrow, a liner and a pump.

I did sand bed under pond liner also .
