My first guess was byropsis. Would regular magnesium work?It could be bryopsis. Kent M - magnesium is what I've read about using.
Is it OK on corals if the mag is that high?It has to be the Kent M brand. Supposedly Kent M is the only one that contains lithium and that's the "magical" ingredient that kills the bryopsis. When the mag level reaches 1800 the byopsis turns white and dies. It still has to be manually removed.

Did you use the Kent m stuff?Yea if u do it slow enough ive gone even higher evenually colors started to fade so i lowered it slowly everything but the algae lived

I don't have very many snail anyway. Only a few turbos.Your corals should be fine but snails start to look a little lethargic when the mag level is that high.
