our electric bills

Who wants to share their electricity usage? I really try to not look and just pay it, but dang!

1558kwh used last month, $188 in usage charges and another $20-30 in other fees. The lowest KWh in the last year was 1084 and as high as 2242. At about $0.12 a KWh sheesh.

Will have to look at the actual bill to tell the true usage, but the last bill was $139.

This is for 65 (( 2*250 MH 2*39 T5 )), 75 (( 2*250 2*54 T5 )), and 210 (( 8*80 T5 )). 1,900 Sq foot townhouse. 1,000 watt home theater in the basement that is on more than it should be on.

Wife just told me it went from $379 last month to 465 this month. Since I started my tank and keep adding cords she is blaming the tank. Looks like I'll be running timers on brew heater and mixer now. I was warned it was expensive hobby...I disagree its an expensive addiction!

Solar Panel time !

Mine currently ranges from $145-$280. I have 2 systems, a 210 ( one 250MH, rest LED) and 75 (all LED) and a 12 amp pool pump that runs 8-10 hours a day in summer from may to oct. (along with fishroom a/c on 24/7 in summer [120 volt 9 amp]). I'm always paying more for equipment that draws less (as in house a/c, fish LED lights, and return pumps/exhaust fans, etc.). Actual electric consumption is a factor when I buy something. I would guess, 99% of consumers never look at this. 10 years ago, same house (been here 15 years), my bills were over $400 on the high side (a few years never under $250 low end), with much, much, MUCH less water volume. I think salt water volume at the highest com ed dollar time was maybe 100 gallons? Now, maybe 400 gallons of salt? Just different equipment, much lower bills. There are com-ed intensives that (I think) re-start for residential coming up in (JUNE maybe?) for those that wish to change out their A-19 incandescent base lights for LED. Paperwork to fill out, I think receipts required. You can check out their website (in June?). It may not be posted yet, but it's coming. I'm also on a well, so I pay to pump water out of the ground. Electric, a necessary evil now a days.

Dam and i complained cause mines like 150$ lol they still send those dam papers saying im not as efficent as my neighbors lol

Comed took out our old slow as a turtle meter and replaced it with a smart meter now we're paying almost double dam

My is $178 last month and ComEd send me letter said I used too much electricity a lot more than all neighbors around..Damm it..

I am closer in bills to Snelly. We average around $400. When I had my breeding tanks going our bills were closer to $1000. The most expensive thing in this hobby seems to be those darn heaters.

Yeah, the only thing that saved me was that when my kids were home they often would help create >$1200 bills so this was not too shocking .

last bill 280
usage 2404
rate .0281
water usage 622
We have water, sewer, and trash on are bill, they were 48 bux
Don't know how my water usage and power rates match up, city has own hydro plant,so they are our provider, can't get power though anybody else.
Any way, summer time between power and water they double.

Wow some of your bills are high!

Mine averages around $150 a month, 1500 square foot house. I run 2 heaters on my 60 cube and have a hot tub out back that runs off a 220v heater.
