I barely dose CA, water changes mostly keep it in check. ALK, however will drop into the danger zone quickly, I test 2x week. BRS dosing units with digital timers. It keeps things pretty stable. More than a few tanks have crashed due to this.

With mild stocking levels I am dosing for both CA and ALK. I do regular water changes that helps, but still add. You say you are new, how old is the tank?

Hey all. Going thru remodel in our only kitchen and bath. Had to take down RODI unit last night. Anyone have suggestions for backup plan for makeup and W/C. Is the stuff from your average supermarket ok? LFS? Bathroom will be down for 3-4 weeks, rest for a couple of more. TIA Matt

Question for those running BRS Dosers, what timers are you using? For now just manually dosing 2 part. Thinking I need something that can turn on, off in a minute, maybe 2 minutes max. Several times daily. Thoughts?
