My battle with aefw

Going to try to head to petland today to grab some turbo start 900. That will take care of the ammonia issue. Once that's finished I'm hoping everything can go into recovery mode. If that doesn't solve the issue then I'm lost
 
Well I split the 4oz bottle between both tanks so hopefully by tomorrow there will be no ammonia and things will be happy happy happy
 
The sps is basically wiped out so I'm going to trash the pieces I've been hoping to save since they are basically all dead. Torches are also nearly dead. On the bright side looks like the 93 is starting to come around. More zoas were open today... not like they are supposed to be but at least not all closed. Haven't seen my hi fin goby in a couple days. Hope it's hiding somewhere

Fairy wrasses dont bury in sand they find hole in rock and make a mucus cacuun they wond bother inverts . They will eat pest but not activly hunt them if the pest end up in water column they will eat it but hell at that point so will a clown so not a good pest solution . Really nothing that wont eat shrimp is a good pest solution some get lucky with yellow corris and melunarius but i had em both and once they found that i feed em they stopped hunting red corris and formosa wrasses r best hunters but can eat shrimp ive been lucky so far shrimp still alive

Thanks for all the info buddy. Pest solution is least important to me. Once the system is running normally again there won't be any pests for them to eat but they meet the other criteria so I'll probably look into buying some

Only 3 sps left

Green Monti

Everything else has reached the trash can.

I'm going to drain the 30 and get all the fine grain sand out and clean everything up. Then refill with fresh saltwater.

Sorry to hear. Did you lose all of the new BC frags you just picked up too?
 
Now that's it's all done. I replaced all the water in the 30, rinsed all the sand, and open the valve so now the 30 isn't isolated anymore. There is still ammonia present but the zoas and leather have started to open. Shrooms still a no go.

Sounds good. But what kind of sand are you using in the 93g? In the pic it looks like it has a lot of detritus. Mayb ur not getting enough flow at the bottom to stop detritus from settling. What do u have for flow?

Oh man how quick this hobby can turn dude these pics r hard to look at wish u the best

It's algae. Flow is RW8 and 2 RW4s all on 100% and the return is dc12000 50%

Lol its not that bad. I'm honestly pumped about the redo. Trying to not focus on all the stuff I lost and just keep my eye on the end goal.
