Purchased a BMT3000 PAR reader and have questions on readings

As title says I purchased a BMT3000 PAR reader that hooks directly to my lap top. First let me say EASY setup and use. Within 10 minutes of opening the box I was getting PAR readings.

I have (4) LED fixtures with (32) CREE blue and (31) CREE white. With the whites on alone at 100% I get a reading of 256 15" down in the tank. With the blues and whites on at 100% I get a reading of 490 and with the whites cut back to 55% the reading goes to 407 and at 45% it goes to 364

Do the readings look correct?

The 407 number (if correct) should be more then enough to support "any" light loving LPS?

I know I have left lots of details out that you might ask for but just looking to see if this passes the "sniff" test.

Thanks

It's just sooo hard to say. It depends so much on what the actual power of the LEDs are. It depends on the bin, manuf, age, drivers and preb a few more variables. If it were me I'd try comparing to a meter that's known to be correct.

From what I understand, LED's can provide more PAR at lower depths than at higher depths due to the further you go down the more LED lights cross over (i.e. 6" down you have 4 LED's powering that area but in the same area, down another 12", you may have light from 12 LEDs which can sometimes be higher.).

I'm getting the CR PAR meter to check mine on the new tank and I will be checking all depths and sections just to be sure!
