That last post was 18 months ago...

I have had to rebuild the air pump and repair the little tube inside the ATS, but it’s still cranking out fist fills of algae!

The one time I thought the tank looked great and took it off line, I ended up with algae growing in the display tank

Probably equivalent to growing chaeto in your sump, but it takes up less space and it once producing it churns it out.

not bad for 18 mos , sounds like you conquered the noise problem with the pump from Amazon .wicked growth in your pics bud

Correct, I ordered a air pump rebuild kit ($12) and it made the air pump good as new again.

And just for clarity, I started using the HOG2 in 2015. Expensive for the build quality and you still have to buy a big ($70) air pump, but Algae growth has certainly been "wicked"!
