Sawdonkey's 220 Thread

Couple of nights ago I mixed up a fresh batch of Kalk in my ATO and usually I let it sit overnight before turn the ATO back on. Well, I forgot to move the sensor down and the pump blew kalk powder into the first chamber of my sump, where I keep my frags. The powder settled on everything and I nuked a bunch of frags and odds and ends I had growing down there. Only completely killed a handful, but damaged a lot of them.

So today, I rigged up a system so that the ATO fills into a different chamber. I should have done this years ago since my frags probably weren't big fans of the constant alk changes anyway.

The new Ecotech M1 return pump is ......well, returning water. I was worried that it wouldn't push enough water, but I only have it half way turned up and it's doing fine. Plenty powerful for a 220.
 
A reefer on r2r has his kalk going to a "media reactor" tube so that incase slurry goes it suposed to settle into the media reactor...an extra piece of equipment? Not really because its just a tube that gets water pushed through it.

I havent set up my kalk reactor but thats a winter project for me

BC SunnyX Sunset- also a slow grower, but seems to be responding well to me turning my lights down a bit

Reef Raft Cactus- slow to start, but also seems to be responding well to less light intensity.

Damn you and your beautiful acros. Tank looks great. So clean and you have all them big fish too. Throwing in the towel with these stupid acros, so Jealous.
 
Incredible dude! I gotta stop over soon to one check out the tanks progress and two return your keys that have been sitting on my rack for a couple months lol

Good news...my photography will be getting better because I'm getting a new camera. Bad news is that my house got burglarized today and that's why I'm getting a new camera.....along with tons of other stuff.

Sorry to hear that man, too many low life scumbags in this world any more!!!! Hope all goes well for u and ur family. Let the ppl who did this to you rot in hell hope they get caught

I do that already have red slime crap from new sand that wont go away driving me absolutely insane not that i wasnt already
 
My wife was just telling me how theres been alot of home invasions here in my town where they run in or break in and attack the owners then robbing them.
So atleast if that wasnt the reason and you and your family are well. Thats a relief. I am upgrading my home security from cameras to actual door and window alarms this weekend.
