I think same,cash prize better than gift card!
And we should look to other local store,whichever store gives us better deal and nicer chalice frags,we go with them!
And 100$sounds good 👍

I can talk to Mario tomorrow when I go
to aquatica cuz thats my LFS
and a few more people "or can we actually do it with 8"
and we will be all good

Mario is good, only problem I see with his place is coral is always RIDICULOUSLY expensive. But can’t hurt to talk to him. Usually where I go since it’s the closest to me.

ya what silverado said I'd say the tyree pink and raja rampage but he has a lot of nice chalices on his site....

so how many do we have so far? I see 8. Is that enough to do this or do we want/need more?
 
I’m in for whatever chalice honestly. I do like the purple urkle or stellaria. But any of them look good,

So did we agree on the $100 buy in? $75 max for the coral and the rest for prize money?

I'd say we get one in the $50 to $75 an eye range that would give some nice prize money

even if there is only 8 of us

and ford said he would put out for the coral so I guess we would want to give him the money

on pickup of the coral and he would hold the prize money? Assuming ford is ok with that

I believe we did agree on the $100 for the buy in. Now would it “winner takes all” or do we want to do a first and second? Basically second would just get the price of the coral back or buy in.

I have one more person that’s interested possibly I just told him about it yesterday and sent him the link today. He’s going to read through it catch up and let me know if he’s interested. With that being said, I’m good with any of the chalice and yes, I will order and collect money and all that stuff if that’s what you guys would like I have no issues with that For what it’s worth I do not need the money upfront. I would want the money when you come to pick up the frag to make it easier for everyone with that being said, hopefully everyone can come the same day the flags get delivered because I really don’t like holding onto them for more than a day .
 
I was also thinking that we need to decide if this is a picture taking contest or is this a chalice grow out contest because I have noticed that some can take better pictures than others, and they may not be fair so we need to decide this upfront. I think that, we could possibly have the rule B everyone has the votes for someone besides themselves and I think we should try doing who’s jealous grows the most not who takes the best picture

cuz the best camera I have is a cannon s2is at 5mp as is the one in my phone at a whopping 5mp

and Ford where are you located so we know a general location for the pick up...a zip code will be good enough for me right now

once we figure out how many of us there are we need to see what chalices' they have that can accommodate our needs

I agree on the rules. This isn’t a picture contest because I suck at taking pictures lol. This is more of a size/growth.

I agree i think that the determining factor should be the final growth and size of the frag. We should how ever submit pictures weekly or monthly to keep interest high and hopefully draw interest from other local reefers in the future regardless of the quality of the pictures.
 
I would say weekly pics but now the question would be when does the contest start? I would say when ford gets the frags?

then how long is it going to be? 3 months 4...6..? I think this would have to be agreed on as well?

and can we see if there is anyway to put numbers on the plugs so we can draw out of a hat at pick up or 1st come 1st served?
