Looks great! Do you have any other color of PDF in there?
Thanks. Nope. Mixing species of PDF in the frog person world is like putting a tang in a 10gal. People will come running, in full tang police fashion to burn your house down

Where did the black and yellow wolverine frogs go?
they're still there. The one terrarium houses the green tree frogs and the large terrarium with all the plants has the yellow/black PDFs. There's 4 of them in with all the plants and at times quite hard to get photos of.

Hey Josh,

I'm trying to figure out what to do with this Marineland 5g hex that I have. I thought that I might do something like your PDF tank except on a much smaller scale... Could I house one PDF in a tank that small? Not sure what the size recommendations are.

I'd recommend a lot of reading before jumping into pdfs. Temp and humidity need to be able to be kept in range and feeding fruit flies can be a pain to keep the cultures going. I'd stick to atleast a 10G for a single pdf, but some people would put a single from in a 5g.

Ahh. Yeah I would definitely read up first! I do have a 20 long sitting empty in the garage that seems like it would be a good fit. Just have to find a place for it... and some sort of top to contain the humidity

This is a very cool thread, I always wanted to start a vivarium. I used to go to the Chicagoland all animal expo and enjoyed looking at the dart frogs there. Maybe I'll set one up in the future. Thanks for sharing, Beautiful pictures!

Thanks. Welcome to CR :D

The frogs really are easy compared to the mixed reef. Other than WC and trimming plants, it's just feeding them.

Here's frog porn. Really, it's frog porn :eek1:

(All vids were shot in HD, so if you watch them on youtube in full screen it'll look a lot better)
Note the second male peaking from above in Part 1.
Part 2 was a few minutes later when the male decided to grab a sandwich of sorts (eat some fruit flies,) yet he and the other male contuined calling.
The third vid is just a close up of this one male.

They grow up so fast.
hahahahahaha. I'm wondering if it's the temp change in the basement that's triggered the change. With the warm weather the tank air temp is hitting it's summer peak, but whatever the cause the one large female is all over both mature males. The female has the spade pattern on her head, one male has a spade pattern that also touches his eye spot, and the other male has a round head pattern. The fourth frog with the oval head pattern has never called so I'm not sure the sex.

Just went down to complete the morning chores and all four of them are in a corner getting froggy again. Took two more vids, one with close ups of both males calling. Uploading them to youtube now.

Really cool. You've created an awesome environment for them. It's a nice change from fish, coral, fish, coral, etc.
