I wanted a surface skim on my aquavclear to get rid of the surface scum. I had to keep cutting down the inlet tube but it works. the socket for the tube was too tight so i soaked it in boiling water and it became really soft and form fitted the Aqua clear tubing.

I got sick of the old overflow's teeth getting clogged. This is working very well.
